Manatees

Madeline definitely likes water mammals. She will collect all the pengiuns she can find and hoard them.

I am happy to say she has discovered manatees. I love manatees and can't wait to tell her all about them and the things we can do to help protect them and other wildlife. She rolled over to the tv console and picked up the manatee figurine. I've been looking for a manatee shaped cake pan for her birthday cake some year. I am still on the hunt!

Good Times

Here's Madeline on her rocking horse.

A drive by licking...
I have been wanting to do a project for a long time of our house. I got the idea from a real estate agent. I want to take 4 pictures of our house in all the different seasons and then put them all together in a frame on the wall. I really wanted a snow picture and have been holding off on the project since it is so rare to have snow. I am thrilled to say I finally got the winter snow picture! This is from the first snow event in December. I'll get working on the project now.
Mark and I headed off to see the Gamecocks play in the Chick Fil A Bowl. The outcome was disappointing but we had a great time!

Christmas

Christmas was great this year. Due to the baby, we had to adjust some of our activities. We always attend the 11pm Christmas Eve service and have Christmas Eve lasagna beforehand. This year we went to the 7pm service and had lasagna afterwards. Mark and I then watched Christmas Vacation. I mentioned that this was probably the last peaceful Christmas night we would have and could watch a movie because most likely in future years we will be assembling toys until the wee hours!

I love getting the mail everyday and wanted Madeline to have the mailbox. She loves it and someday she'll be walking with me to the real mailbox. I also wrapped up a jumbo box of diapers so it looked like she had a big present under the tree. She had all kinds of fun toys from family including the hippo pillow pet, the Zoo, a baby doll and lots of other things. I see that our Christmases now involve toys!

We had Christmas just us with the animals, then headed over to my brother-in-law's house and then later to my parents' house. We are so blessed.

For those of you that are aware of the feud in the Macdonald clan, it is a year of clear lights. The tree did look very nice, I am not disputing that. Next year we will have the colored lights!! Yeah!

ICE in DC

Before Christmas I headed to DC to visit Sarah. It was a great visit! I did miss Madeline but she was having fun with Mark!

Sarah and I went to this exhibit at the Gaylord National. It was ICE from Dr. Seuess and was amazing! It was 9 degrees in this igloo and there were huge ice sculptures. There were also slides made of ice and we were like big kids. You can see from the picture that we are bundled up. It is so cold they give you these arctic jackets to go OVER all your other clothes.

Presbyterian Heritage Day

Once again we were asked to display our tartans and kilts at Roswell Presbyterian Church's Heritage Day. I bought Madeline a plaid dress to go with the theme but it is not the clan donald tartan. Madeline did really well during the procession.
