Ravioli and Fun

Last week we had a break through and I was so excited I had to get the camera to document the happenings! I had thought that Madeline would never stop eating baby food. We would make a little progress here and there but mostly she just liked to eat her baby food. I was having ravioli for dinner the other night and decided to give her some to see what she thought. She loves it! I had been hoping someday she would start eating pasta because there are so many meals I can make with it! We have also starting eating green peas, apples, sliced peaches, (these are messy but worth it) among other things. We just keep rolling right along and I am very happy! Now I can stop buying those nasty jars of pureed meat!

Sitting in a wagon at Nana's house. This wagon used to be mine!

When it's quiet...

All was quiet in the house but I knew my daughters had to be on the main level since a gate prevents them from going up the stairs. I discovered them playing with toilet paper!

Here is Madeline wiping her nose...
The door to the bathroom now stays closed unless someone is using it.

Success! On July 18 Giorgio's was having a viewing party of The Bachelorette complete with Constantine! I put out the proposal of heading there to a few people and had some takers!! Alicia, Kriya, Kristin and I had a great time! During the evening we were giggling and acting like the 18 years old that were there to meet him! It was nice to leave the kids with the husbands and have a silly girls night!

Lake Lanier Visit

We headed to Lake Lanier to visit Miss Pam and had a great time! Madeline loved the boat ride but wasn't crazy about the life jacket. Thanks for having us!!

How to entertain Madeline (and the dog)

We had some major work done on our backyard, a project we have been wanting to do for awhile now and it is finally complete! We terraced the backyard, extended the fence and also had some landscaping done. I was very happy with the work that was done.

We also had these things called River Slicks added to the side yards to help with drainage and erosion. On this particualr day, they were unloading the rocks from a truck into a wheelbarrow. Madeline stood at this window for about 20 minutes just watching them drop the rocks! I took advantage and got some things done around the kitchen.

Red, White and Blue

We had a great 4th of July celebrating our freedoms! It is one of my favorite holidays. The day started off in usual fashion with me running the Peachtree. It was my 7th consecutive time. I walked it last year since I had just given birth but I was back to running this year. I also had a fellow runner! Sarah came for the weekend so we could run the race together. She has heard me talk about it for many years. So we completed the course plus the long walk back to Marta. We then headed to Waffle House. Later than afternoon we went to a grill out over at my in-laws before taking Sarah to the airport. It was a great weekend! Niagra Falls, here we come!!!

Some Stalking

Here we are before our evening of stalking. I am not proud to admit my addiction to the trash of The Bachelor and Bachelorette. I have watched it from season 1, except for boycotting Jason's season because I don't agree with thrusting children into that situation.

So when Sarah was visiting, we planned a visit to Constantine's restaurant here in Cumming. The food was delicious but unfortunately Constantine wasn't there. Try to visit Giorgio's to meet him!

Madeline gives Giorgio's a thumbs up!
Aunt Sarah came to visit!

Family Vacation 2011

We headed down to Florida for our family vacation this year. Our car was so packed. I can't believe how much stuff is "needed".

We visited Gramary at Compass Lake. Madeline loved swimming in the lake.

We then headed to my parents' condo in Destin. We had great weather all week and spent lots of time outside. There was also plenty of relaxing and reading! Madeline slept well in both places and I am thankful for that.

More Pool Time

We continue to spend a lot of time at the pool.

Madeline has discovered my stash of paper products and loves to pull them all out!

Here we are with the monsoon and Bree. Unfortunately because it was so wet I didn't have my camera out to take some pics until the very end. It was quite adventurous!!

I think it looks like Madeline is dancing in this photo!

I don't have any pictures of this yet, just plenty of video and I don't know how to load those but....

We have a walker! She has been gaining more and more confidence and now she is a walking machine. She just kind of bobbles along. The animals are definitely aware of this change. Maarten is fine but now Yoda takes off when he sees Madeline coming, unless he is in the mood for some not-so-gentle pats. We are working on "gentle with the animals".
